Early Cancer Screening Test
Detect over 70 types of cancer before you show symptoms
We offer the TruCheck test, a breakthrough non-invasive blood test that can detect multiple cancers at early stages in asymptomatic individuals with high accuracy.
This blood test can detect up to 70 types of solid cancer tumours before you show symptoms. Patients diagnosed early have the best chance of curative treatment and long-term survival.
TruCheck: a revolutionary test
The TruCheck Intelli early multi-cancer screening blood test checks your blood sample for Circulating Tumour Cells (CTCs), and clusters of the cells, which malignant tumours release. These cells are the main reason cancer eventually spreads in the body. TruCheck is the only test available publicly to check for CTCs, detecting even the tiniest existence of cancer.
A non-invasive procedure, this test requires only a simple blood sample.
How does the test process work?
1
After ensuring that you are eligible and suitable for the test, you can book online or call us to schedule an appointment.
2
In your appointment, the doctor will answer any questions you have about the test, ask you to sign a consent form and then take your blood sample.
3
Your sample will then be sent to the specialist laboratory for analysis.
4
You will receive your results in around 14 working days.
Are you eligible for this test?
The TruCheck early cancer screening test is suitable for people:
-
aged 40 years and older, or people aged 35-40 deemed to be higher risk e.g. with a family history of solid cancer tumours
-
who have never had a cancer diagnosis for any type of cancer
-
who currently have no symptoms or signs of cancer
-
who have not had a blood transfusion within 72 hours of the blood test appointment
This test is NOT suitable for people who have been diagnosed with a cancer or who currently have signs or symptoms of cancer. If you have symptoms of cancer, please book a GP consultation or seek other medical help.
What happens if I have a positive result?
If you receive a positive result, it means the test has detected CTCs in your blood. The test results will indicate the organ or tissue of origin for select type of cancers with high accuracy, and in other cancers with reasonable accuracy. This means we can tell you where the cancer started developing in your body.
With any positive result, the doctor will call you personally to discuss your results, what they mean and guide you on your next steps. The most likely first step would be further investigations to confirm if you have a cancer; this can be via a private or NHS referral to a specialist.
How accurate is the test?
As with many medical tests, the TruCheck test is not accurate in 100% of cases. Accuracy is measured in specificity and sensitivity.
This test has 99% specificity which means it will correctly identify 99 people out of 100 without cancer and will deliver a ‘false positive’ result to 1 in 100.
This test has 88% sensitivity which means it will correctly identify 88% of the patients who have early signs of cancer and will deliver a ‘false negative’ result to 12%.
Which cancers does the test check for?
The test can identify over 70 solid organ cancers (cancers which affect organs, rather than blood). These cancers account for 81% of all cancer cases globally. They include:
